Recipe for Ladies' Night!!

Ladies’ nights have become akin to a group of fabulous ladies, wearing low cut blouses in 4” heels hitting the clubs, free cover and sharing cheap tequila shots on a Friday night! While that is one way to enjoy ladies night, I’ve been enjoying a different type – that didn’t include tequila shots, cleavage or a bar. Naturally, my 4” heels didn’t leave my feet for a second!

Ladies nights are not just promotional opportunities, but they have also become a part of pop culture and a huge social support group/network for women. In fact, a recent study from UCLA found that spending an evening with some amazing female friends is a great way to counteract the day-to-day stresses that we face and dealing with life altering experiences, like death, divorce or unemployment.

While we love the men and children in our lives…most of the time…the support, laughs and freedom that are experienced with our girlfriends is vital to our sanity.

I’ve had a blast with my girls on the traditional ladies’ nights, but it’s my Wednesday-night-hump-day-happy-hour that has saved me during troubling times and has become my favorite ladies nights!!! Lately, mojitos and cosmos have been excluded from the happy hour and have been replaced with food, conversation, understanding, laughs and sharing. We pick different restaurants, enjoy the yummy food, ambiance and conversations about shoes, fashion, work, men, sex, politics and how to save the world. And, by the end, we feel a little closer, better understood and ready to kick some ass!!

The following is my personal recipe for a “Sex in the City” worthy Ladies Night out!!

2 or more fabulous ladies
3 cups of trust
4 cups of humor
a pinch of disagreements (differing opinions are a good thing)
2 cups of honesty
2 cups of communication
a handful of yummy treats, such as sweet potatoe fries, chocolate cake or sushi
1 mojito
1 stick of your favorite ambiance or activity

Mix all the ingredients at a table. Allow each of the fabulous ladies to mix the ingredients and voila…your Ladies Night is complete!!!

My stick of favorite ambiance and activity vary. I’ve celebrated my ladies’ nights at book readings, movies and while painting some pottery. There is even a plan in place to have a ladies night while rock climbing. The trick is finding a place where is you can enjoy the music but still hear one another talk and activities that are new, different and fun.

Ladies nights are no longer about getting buzzed, but they are about creating deeper bonds with the women that understand you best. So, I encourage you sexy ladies to grab your BFFs and plan an extraordinary ladies night….without the cleavage and tequila, but with the 4”heels and fabulous ladies!
