The Cold Weather's Essential Outfit - Sweater Dress

This fall/winter, there is one piece of clothing that I can't get out of my head - the versatile sweater dress, perfect for showing off your curves and sexy stilletto boots, but still keeping you warm on snow days. Wear it to work, a date with the new hottie, a girl's nite or for a martini. Sweater dresses are wonderfully versatile; with just a couple of simple accersory changes, you can take this simple dress from day to night! I love the sweater dress so much I've bought several for the season.

Some of my favorites are from Banana Republic, Victoria Secret, INC at Macy's, Calvin Klein, Forever 21 and Ann Taylor (and yes I own a few of these). Sorry...I am fashion savvy but not tech savvy. How to Accessorize a Sweater Dress

The sweater dress looks great on everyone, if you find the right fit. So take your time and try on as many as needed until you feel super snug and super sexy! With all the different colours, textures and fittings of this season's staple dress, you don't need alot of accessories - less is more when accessorizing your sweater dress. And, use your accessories to help your Tashaan shine. Here are a few ways to show off your Tashaan in the sweater dress:

1. Colour. Depending upon your skin tone, if you can only buy one sweater dress this season, find a flattering neutral - black, cream, brown, navy, red or purple (the new neutral).

2. Fit and Length. There are so many options available - long, mini, babydoll, elegant - for your personal Tashaan. If you choose a snug fit (like the Banana Republic or INC at Macy's dresses), I would strongly recommend investing in undergarments that will suck the tummy and avoiding panty lines, such as Spanx (Macys).

3. Belt. To add definition to your waist, wear a thick, waist hugging belt around the narrowest part of your waist.

4. Shoes. As any desi fashionista knows, the shoes can make or break the outfit. For a casual look, wear your new sweater dress with ballet slippers. For a dressy look, wear it with a nice pair of pumps. Personally, I like wearing my sweater dresses with a sexy pair of stilleto boots.

5. Hosiery. To add an elemant of surprise and uniqueness, keep your sweater dress simple and experiment with patterned and textured hosiery.

6. Jewellery. To really stand out in a crowd, pair your sweater dress with a long beaded necklace or chandelier earrings - noth both. At the office wear it with hoop earrings and a chunky bracelet or watch.

7. Bags. Wear your sweater dress with a hobo bag or a clutch purse. Your purse is wear you can add a fabulous pop of colour if your sweater dress is a neutral colour.
